Heffy
was our foundation bitch. Pictured
here at 13 years of age our beloved Heffy went over the Rainbow Bridge just two days after this picture was taken. She
was a granddaughter of Ch. Knaith Beatty owned by Lady Jacqueline Barlow of Newfoundland.
Ch. Knaith Beatty was also the sire of my father's dog Beatty's Tiger , better known as Bimbo.
Bimbo was the reason I decided to get a Labrador of my own and not too long after we were
married my wife Caroline agreed to let me have a dog. It had been my original intention , with the
help of Lady Barlow , to import a pup directly from Mrs. Wormald, Knaith Kennels in Scotland.
I had particularly admired her Dual Ch. Knaith Banjo. Unfortunately by this time Mrs. Wormald had
passed away and it was not possible. That was how, at 8 months of age we purchased Hephzibah, my dear, sweet , exasperating, stubborn , darling Heffy. |
